![]() ![]() ![]() Did you know that virtually all films released today are mixed in Dolby Surround 7.1 and Dolby Atmos? So much respect for this company which has been a technological pioneer in entertainment since the 60s. Later in life when I was mature enough to sit through the credit roll of movies, I noticed the Dolby logo was and is omnipresent. Not knowing anything about the company or the technology, the double D button is my favorite button to press after turning on the stereo system, and its shape has since etched into my brain. I was blown away by this wizardry and always wondered why it was off by default. It has this magic button with a double-D icon on it, and whenever I pressed it, the sound from the speakers suddenly dropped the distracting hissing noise and turned into velvet-smooth delicacies to my ear (thinking back in 2020, it was the audio equivalence of the beautify filter of cellphone camera). My first experience with the Dolby logo is the hi-fi home stereo system my dad bought when I was a kid. ![]()
